Table Top overheating — the 3mm rule — YouTube tutorial

You pour Table Top into a deep mould expecting a glassy, crystal-clear finish — and instead it heats up, starts to "boil," and traps a haze of bubbles (or cracks and yellows as it cures). Frustrating, especially when the pour looked perfect going in — and in summer heat, it runs away even faster.

Here's what's actually happening: Table Top is a coating epoxy, built for thin, glossy layers — not deep single pours. Pour it too thick and the curing reaction makes heat faster than it can escape. That runaway heat is what makes it bubble, boil, and crack.

The fix is one simple rule:

The 3mm Rule — pour Table Top in thin layers, no thicker than about 3mm (⅛ inch) at a time, and let each layer set before adding the next. Our tutorial shows exactly how to do it — and how to spot the warning signs early:
