The feeling of soft, luxurious wool against your skin... it has to be soft, and so we turn to merino or cashmere for a gentle touch. Both of these fibres however have very lengthy supply chains (over 18,000 miles) passing through countries to be processed without good working practices or environmental protections, causing pollution, waste and harm along the way.

No one wants that rough edge to their soft knit!

Introducing... the Bluefaced Leicester breed. Otherwise known as 'British merino' this native breed has the finest fleece of the British Isles and a long and luxurious coat which gives a beautiful texture and super soft knitwear.

Every HERD is made from 100% Bluefaced Leicester sheep wool which we source directly from farmers in Northern England ourselves (no one else does this but us - in fact, we sell this yarn to other companies to make their own knitwear from - that's how much we love it!).
