If you turn over a conventional bottle of laundry detergent, the ingredient list usually looks like an advanced chemistry textbook. Most of those unpronounceable words aren't actually there to clean your clothes. They are there to create artificial foam, synthetic smells, and optical illusions.

When Monica started Molly's Suds, she created a strict "Absolutely NO" list.

Here are four common additives we refuse to use, and exactly why:

Optical Brighteners: These do not remove stains. They are synthetic chemicals that coat your fabrics in a film to reflect light, tricking your eyes into thinking clothes look whiter. That chemical film then sits directly against your skin all day long.

SLS (Sodium Lauryl Sulfate): This is a cheap, harsh foaming agent that strips away natural oils. It is a notorious trigger for eczema and sensitive skin flare-ups.

Formaldehyde Releasers: These are often hidden in conventional detergents as cheap preservatives. They slowly release a known respiratory irritant over time.

Chlorine Bleach: A harsh chemical whitener that weakens fabric fibers over time and releases fumes that irritate lungs and skin. We prefer oxygen-based alternatives that lift stains without the collateral damage.

We believe that safe products that don't clean are just expensive water.

But powerful products that aren't safe have no place around the people you love.
